Personal Leadership Philosophy
Eleanor Roosevelt once asserted, “A good leader inspires individuals to possess the confidence in leader, the great leader inspires individuals to possess the confidence in themselves” (Famous Leadership Quotes). However, becoming a great leader is not simple. Successfully managing the team through the ups and downs of a business may be one of the greatest challenges a business owner experiences. A successful leader requires certain features that can help him or her in managing the company. Thus, this paper is meant to provide my own personal leadership philosophy.
My Personal Leadership Philosophy
Naturally, everybody possesses his/her own opinions as to what leadership includes. From my point of view, at least three features should prevail in any leader’s operation, project, or chair. These are: discouragement, enthusiasm, and ambition.
Discouragement appears to be the oddity in the bunch. However, if there were not any discouragements or barriers to conquer, how would anybody stay motivated towards the final aim? For me, as aforesaid, when obstacle is in my way, I do everything possible to overcome it. It simply makes you stronger as you may surely study on any mistakes, which take place during the process. Thus, even though discouragement appears so pessimistic, everybody requires a little to keep moving on the track.
Also, my personal leadership philosophy includes the ambition. In order to cope with discouragement in the logical manner, one has to take the criticism and turn it in the ambition. If it were not for the ambition, many well-known leaders would have not been so successful.
Finally, it does not hurt to have the enthusiastic personality either. Other leaders and followers with whom you are working will be more receptive to the notion if you are enthusiastic and sound excited. No one wishes to have a negative person on their side of a project. Now, I realize that if I preserve a content personality, then other individuals will reflect my state of mind and will be happy as well. I will not let anything stay in my way from finishing a project; if someone asserts “no”, then I just carry on and decide I must have not required their assistance anyway and discover somebody more willing.
Strategy and Execution
How to become a good leader? What personal features and traits are required for leadership? What characterizes successful leadership? Here are some characteristics that are foundational to good leadership from my point of view. These features can be more naturally present in a personality of a leader. Nevertheless, every characteristic may also be evolved and strengthened.
- A successful leader is the person who leads or motivates and does not direct humans to do what a leader wishes them to do. He or she assists humans in stretching their imaginations and capabilities by demonstrating them what they are best at, by making them reply the dissimilar questions to get to the origin of the trouble. A true leader does not provide resolutions but inquiries that finally lead humans to the necessary solutions.
- A leader is friendly. He or she tries working with individuals collaboratively. A successful leader is a friend of all the followers; anybody, coworkers, for example, may talk to about their troubles, fears, even novel notions without any hang ups concerning hierarchy, position, or fear.
- A good leader motivates and supports people to study novel skills and contribute innovative thoughts. He/she guarantees people work on what they like.
- A leader is a nice coach. He/she listens to individuals when they have troubles and assists them in discovering a resolution.
- A leader should be sensitive to individuals’ feelings, culture, and points of view. The leader respects people inside and outside the company.
- A good leader possesses the high energy to study and work to make the company successful. This leader encourages people, in particular, in bad periods and keeps them happy.
- A good leader sets extremely high principles of ethics and work. He/she sets instances for humans to follow by practicing what he/she preaches.
Personal Leadership Principles
My personal accountability as a leader is to motivate and lead individuals in order to achieve common organizational aims. My personal aim is to develop the value for clients by providing pleasing service and also the personnel members by empowering them to do what they like. I will provide the corresponding atmosphere for humans to become successful in personal and professional lives. I will not pause in enduring by my main beliefs even when the cost is tough. I will take total accountability for all my deeds. I will expect other people to take accountability for their deeds and decisions. I will be sincere in all my actions and expect other people to do the same. I will tell bad and good news to individuals and expect other people to do the same. I will seek assistance when I am not confident what the right thing is. The finest method to learn is through the appropriate feedback. I will enthusiastically search feedbacks and inputs from humans to continuously study and grow. I will provide the feedback and my personal views to humans when they take unethical actions or make errors. Time is the only constant in living. I will provide all assistance to end work on time and respect the promises. I wish to see the same from individuals. Cooperation is needed for healthy working relations. We must assist one another in bad and good times. Coaching but not penalty should be the initial step in correcting mistakes. I will coach and look for the coaching when the circumstances demand. I will maintain clearness in my dealings with humans. I will clarify crucial decisions and deeds frequently. When in doubt, anybody may walk up to me and ask questions, and I will reply to the best of my knowledge. I expect other people to be clear about their work and deeds.
Essentially, all parts of my personal leadership philosophy influence one another in some way. Ambition and enthusiasm conquer those hurdles from the discouragement. In passing on what I have learned, leading by instance is the primarily method to learn the basics of leadership. Also, when deciding what your vision and mission is, it is a perfect way to practice and apply these examples. Beyond what my personal leadership philosophy involves, I would have to assert leading by example is the most prevalent method to demonstrate leadership. If we hold true to the well-known saying, “Do as I say, not as I do,” leaders would not evolve into who they have become nowadays. If a leader of a company was to only tellthe followers what to do, it would simply be the management position. It is the successful leader’s position to be right in there with the group, demonstrating other people what to do. Interacting with the followers is vital as well; so, they may see first-hand what should and should not be performed.
